Blackpool - England

Blackpool the drinkers Las vegas of England, yes this small sea side resort is a haven for stag do's and hen nights. with its sea front illuminations and many pubs 'n' clubs blackpool is the place to be.

This is the junk food, and naff lager capital of the UK, but surly not to be missed!! this small town plays host to a fairly impressive tower and a theme park called (pleasure beach). which all adds to the total blackpool experience.

Accommodation

Where to stay??? well that's easy in blackpool, almost every house near the the sea front is a guest house (bed and breakfast) but try to look for one with a bar, I have stayed in blackpool many times. and most guest houses offers large rooms a full downstairs bar which is a very good starting point and meeting place. and also offer flexible breakfast times( because lets face it if you've been on the ale all night you don't want to get up for 8am)

blackpool illuminations is a very busy time for the guest house's, so my advice would be to make reservations in advance. Most guest house's charge around £27 per night, look to pay a bit more if booking into a hotel.

Where to eat !!

A fine selection of fast food is available every where you go in blackpool, from mc Donald's to burger vans in the street, and of course the curry house and Chinese always do a good trade.. check em out!!

Cash

Take allot of it!! the UK is still not in the euro (thank god) the currency is pounds sterling. Look to pay around £3 a pint or bottle and around £5-£9 for night club admission, and though out the day time most pubs charge £1 to get in!!

What to do by day!

Pleasure beach: always good for a laugh situated on the sea front, this is a full on amusement park,which plays host to (the big one) roller coaster that is!! but really, its a bit pricey for what it is...

bingo/amusement arcades: there are loads of bingo halls in blackpool so finding a game isn't to hard to do. Or try your luck on the slot machines, with so many arcades all down the sea front you don't have to go far.

The tower lounge: well blackpool is famous for its all day drinking, and no place better to be on an all day session is the tower lounge always a great atmosphere as the ale flows and the music booms!! here you will see so many weird sites like people dressed up like school kids to police women!!

What to do by night

After spending all day in the pub its nice to go back to digs and freshen up! and generally get some food on the way back.. Once at the digs a quick shower, change of clothes and straight back out, by this time you should be feeling slightly drunk!! so take it easy in one of the many pubs on the sea front.
